Grover is Mana Grove's AI deck assistant. It can build a deck from a plain-language prompt, refine a deck you are working on, and answer rules questions in chat as a starting point, always worth verifying against the Comprehensive Rules.
Try Grover: Grover, the AI deck assistant shows what it drafts from a short brief, with two dated examples.
Where to find Grover
Open Brew → Build with AI in the main navigation. The assistant has two modes:
- Build a deck: describe what you want and Grover assembles a full draft. You can watch the build progress, review the list, and then ask for changes; every refinement shows you the proposed changes before they are applied. Your recent builds are kept on the same page so you can pick one back up.
- Chat with Grover: ask anything about the game. Rules questions (a starting point, always worth verifying against the Comprehensive Rules), matchup calls, card evaluations, combo lines.
You can also chat with Grover about a specific deck from that deck's page.
What it can do
- Build a first draft of a deck for your chosen format from one prompt.
- Refine an existing build: swap cards, adjust the mana base or push a theme harder.
- Explain rules interactions (a starting point, always worth verifying against the Comprehensive Rules) and evaluate cards in context.
- Suggest combo lines and talk through matchups.
Prompt tips
The more context you give, the better the first draft:
- Name the format. "A Commander deck" and "a Modern deck" lead to very different lists.
- Give it a direction. A commander, a theme, a color pair, or a strategy ("mono-red aggro", "lifegain with Ajani planeswalkers").
- State constraints. Cards you insist on, cards you do not own, the table you play at. Keep prices out of the prompt: once the deck works, the budget filter in the Suggestions tab keeps Tutor's picks inside your price range.
- Iterate. Short follow-ups like "lower the curve" or "more removal" work well, and you approve each set of changes before it lands.
Messages, allowances, and the cap
Grover is optional and every plan works without it; the Free plan comes with 20 Grover messages, 100 Scry searches (then keyword search), 10 Tutor recommendations and 10 combo detections a month, 10 saved decks and a 1,000-card collection.
Every message you send Grover uses one Grover AI message from your monthly allowance. Allowances vary by plan: see the Pricing page for current numbers, and check your remaining messages any time under Usage (avatar menu → Usage).
When you hit the cap, Grover pauses until your allowance resets monthly on your personal reset date, shown on the Usage page. You can also upgrade for a larger allowance; the prompt that appears when you hit the cap takes you straight there. On the Unlimited plan, messages are subject to a fair use policy.
For how allowances and resets work across all features, see Understanding Usage & Quotas.
