Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has one Commander deck, Turtle Power!, released with the set on March 6, 2026. It's a five-colour, 100-card deck, and the publisher names Leonardo, the Balance as its face commander, with five more foil commanders in the box: Donatello, the Brains; Michelangelo, the Heart; Raphael, the Muscle; Splinter, the Mentor; and Heroes in a Half Shell. Our precon page lists the deck under Heroes in a Half Shell, and either card can lead the same 100 cards, because both have a five-colour identity. Out of the box, our bracket checker reads it as Bracket 2 (Core), with no Game Changers. Product details are on the publisher's product pages, and every Commander deck follows the Commander rules, section 903 of the Comprehensive Rules.
Six commanders in one box means one deck with several ways to play it. Tokens, +1/+1 counters and Mutagen are the glue, and each commander pushes the deck in a different direction.

The six commanders in the box
All six are legendary creatures, so any of them can be a commander (Comprehensive Rules 903.3).
| Commander | Cost | Colour identity | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Leonardo, the Balance (face commander) | {3}{W} | All five | Once each turn, when a token you control enters, you may put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control; {W}{U}{B}{R}{G} gives your creatures menace, trample and lifelink until end of turn |
| Heroes in a Half Shell | {W}{U}{B}{R}{G} | All five | A 5/5 with vigilance, menace, trample and haste; when your Mutants, Ninjas or Turtles deal combat damage to a player, each of them gets a +1/+1 counter and you draw a card |
| Donatello, the Brains | {2}{U} | Blue | Whenever tokens would be created under your control, you get those tokens plus a Mutagen token |
| Michelangelo, the Heart | {1}{G} | Green | Trample; at the beginning of your second main phase, if you attacked this turn, a +1/+1 counter on target creature and a Food token |
| Raphael, the Muscle | {4}{R} | Red | Doubles the damage your creatures with counters on them would deal; a Mutagen token when it enters |
| Splinter, the Mentor | {1}{B} | Black | Menace; a Mutagen token whenever it or another nontoken creature you control leaves the battlefield |
All but Heroes in a Half Shell have Partner-Character select, and so does April O'Neil, Live on the Scene, a blue card in the 99 that investigates whenever a Mutant, Ninja or Turtle you control enters. A Mutagen token is a colourless artifact with the ability "{1}, {T}, Sacrifice this token: Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature. Activate only as a sorcery." (rule 111.10v).
Which commanders can lead the deck as it comes?
The 99 is five colours, and every card in a Commander deck must fit inside its commander's colour identity (Comprehensive Rules 903.5c). Heroes in a Half Shell has all five through its mana cost. Leonardo costs {3}{W}, but colour identity also counts the mana symbols in a card's rules text (903.4), and its {W}{U}{B}{R}{G} ability gives it a five-colour identity too.
Partner-Character select lets you have two commanders if both have it (702.124i), and your commander's colour identity becomes the two combined (702.124c). A pair of the one-colour cards gives you two colours at most, not enough for this list, but Leonardo plus any partner keeps all five. So the deck as built runs with Leonardo alone, Heroes in a Half Shell alone, or Leonardo with Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael, Splinter or April O'Neil. With two commanders the deck is still 100 cards: both start in the command zone and the other 98 are your library (702.124b). Character select doesn't combine with other partner abilities (702.124f).
How Turtle Power! plays
The designer locked in five colours right away, then chose +1/+1 counters because they "represent the act of leveling up and getting stronger quite well." The engine is tokens turning into counters. Donatello adds a Mutagen to every batch of tokens you make, Raphael and Splinter make Mutagens of their own, and once each turn Leonardo puts a +1/+1 counter on each of your creatures when a token enters. Then the counters pay off: Raphael doubles the damage your countered creatures deal, Heroes in a Half Shell draws a card whenever your Mutants, Ninjas or Turtles connect, and Casey Jones, Back Alley Brute deals damage to an opponent whenever you put +1/+1 counters on a creature you control. With Leonardo and Casey Jones both out, one token can become a point of damage for every creature you have.
The list runs 30 creatures, 10 sorceries, 9 artifacts, 6 instants, 5 enchantments and 39 lands, at an average mana value of 3.4 across its 60 nonland cards. Five colours of mana come from Command Tower, Arcane Signet and Chromatic Lantern, which lets every land you control tap for any colour. Our bracket checker reads the list as Bracket 2 (Core), with no Game Changers. The full Turtle Power! decklist.
How to upgrade Turtle Power!
With five colours to feed, fix the mana first. Our upgrade guide says the same of Dance of the Elements, the five-colour Lorwyn Eclipsed deck: every slot is a mana question first. Copy the list from its precon page into the deck builder, no account needed, change ten cards rather than forty, and let the Validation tab check the 100 cards, the singleton rule and colour identity as you go (Comprehensive Rules 903.5a, 903.5b and 903.5c). Then paste the result into the bracket checker: one to three Game Changers move it to at least Bracket 3, and Commander decks by bracket shows what that looks like.
Frequently asked questions
How many TMNT Commander decks are there?
One: Turtle Power!, released March 6, 2026. With six foil commanders in the box, it plays more than one way.
Who is the commander of Turtle Power!?
The publisher names Leonardo, the Balance as the face commander, and Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael, Splinter and Heroes in a Half Shell as the five featured commanders. Leonardo or Heroes in a Half Shell can lead the deck as built, since both have a five-colour identity; our precon page lists it under Heroes in a Half Shell.
What is Partner-Character select?
A partner variant from this release: you can have two commanders if both have it (Comprehensive Rules 702.124i), and your commander's colour identity is the two combined (702.124c). Six cards in Turtle Power! have it: Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael, Splinter and April O'Neil.
What does a Mutagen token do?
It's a colourless artifact token with the ability "{1}, {T}, Sacrifice this token: Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature. Activate only as a sorcery." (rule 111.10v). In this deck Donatello, Raphael and Splinter make them.
What bracket is the Turtle Power! precon?
Our bracket checker reads it as Bracket 2 (Core), with no Game Changers, against the Game Changers list of February 9, 2026. That's a reading of the cards alone; the bracket you declare also covers intent and speed, as What are Commander brackets? explains.
